^ Was he ever under the care of an immunologist? Did he ever undergo immunologic work up like a test for antibody deficiency, etc? What type of infections does he get when he has fever? Viral or bacterial? Meron na bang nagawa na blood cultures? If so, what organisms cause his infections?

never pa kami narefer sa immunologist, ang cbcs always suggest, viral minsan bacterial pero tonsillitis daw minsan cause high fever then nagamot narin for primary complex.
nung 3 years old [textspeak!] every 2weeks ang fever kinonfine na siya hindi ko na maalala yung mga blood exams pero pinagaralan dati kung leukemia nung hindi naman leukemia sabi sepsis naman daw... naluto naxa sa antibiotic..
by the way sa tingin nyo ba may effect yung lahar, kasi business ng family namin hollowblocks sa tabi ng bahay ang gawaan. lahar at buhangin.. sabi ng iba baka ito daw cause? tnx sis

sis TS,  i can relate, ganyan din yung son ko.  every 2 weeks may fever siya and i think it started when he was barely a year old.  and not only that,  if his temp elevates even just a bit,  my convulsion pa siya,  how many times that we had to call 911 for the paramedic to revive him.  kaya that time,  when he seems like coming down with a fever, round the clock watch na kami ni hubster,  we alternate taking turns keeping an eye on him, kasi nga dahil sa convulsions.  and he got hospitalized pa one time dahil sa RSV (respiratory virus) na natuloy pneumonia.  they didn't really find anything wrong with him.
and that was my biggest fear,  him going to school, baka doon pa siya sa school mag convulsion.  and you know what,  once pumasok na siya ng school (4.5 years old),  nawala na.
you said that 8 years old na yung son mo and every six months na lang,  hopefully he's on his was of totally outgrowing yung childhood fever niya like my son's.
btw my son is now 24 years only,  after he got over that, he was hardly sick growing up!  i hope the same thing happens to your son.

and may I add that my baby sister had the exact same thing as my son's,  low grade fever with convulsion every 2 weeks.  she started school and boom, it's gone.  done know what it is.  since we were still in Pinas while she was getting sick, we even resorted to taking her to 'hilot' at baka pilay daw or kaya nausog.  idk,  if science cannot explain something,  sometimes we tend to resort to old medicine/quackery.  i'm not advising you to do the same,  i was a kid myself at that time, it was my mom who took her there.

Yes mommy kami din, sa hilot minsan umaasa.. may maasahan lang...nagsimba kami kay father suarez, nagheal sya after ng mass pinahawakan ko anak ko parang since then hindi na weekly at monthly, naging every 3 mos now 6 mos.

Kids below 7 years of age are more prone to infections because their immune system is still developing. Mas madali silang mahawa, lalo na during the time they start going to school because that is the time they get exposed more to micro-organisms that cause pneumonia, otitis media/ear infection, etc. That is why it is also important that they complete their immunization before that time so that they have additional protection against diseases.
With the differential diagnosis of leukemia, did they do a bone marrow aspirate to rule it out or they just relied on cbc? If it was the tonsilitis that was recurrent, were you ever referred to an ENT for removal of tonsils? Wala ba siyang other diseases like asthma or allergic rhinitis other than PC that can predispose to recurrent infections?
If he is constantly exposed to lahar or buhangin, he might be more predisposed to develop asthma, allergies or other respiratory infections. Check also for molds in your house since this can lead to recurrent infections. Environmental factors play a role in our health.

Hi sis! Yung babies ko hindi sila sakitin eversince pero yung eldest ko may asthma. 2x naconfine sa hospital. I've tried na din lahat ng vitamins pero hindi sila tabain. Pero since nov 2013 theyre taking usanimals vitamins. Dito ko sa sg kinuhuha kasi dito ako based. So far, so good naman.

Usanimals is the Usana Essentials Kids version. Gumanda appetite lalo na yung eldest, pihikan kasi. Masarap tulog nila.

My whole family uses usana kaya I can attest, it works well talaga. 2x ko pinapainom ang kids based dun sa ages nila 8 and 5.

Hope maging OK na si baby :)
