After 16 years, in an emotionally, financially, and mentally abusive relationship (I suspect he is a sociopath.) I left home. I am in a private place working from home, earning good money, and setting my goals, ready to save money. I call my child every day - he is turning 13. I feel the kid would understand. I hope he does. We can meet someday.

It is time for healing, knowing myself again, doing things I was not able to catering to a narcissist and being gaslighted all the time.

What other things can I do to heal and move on faster?

Meet new people, gain more friends, re-discover real love around you and all over the world.  Sleep early, have a full 8 hour rest then wake up at sunrise to jog, ride a bike or just to walk, enjoy the morning and have a warm breakfast in a restaurant chain.

I've also been in a relationship similar to yours.  I've been gaslighted ...told that I'm weird, and that no one will understand my behavior.  I was made to believe that my family is dysfunctional and my friends are not true and everyone will betray me.  I've been so overwhelmed by infatuation and blinded.

My daughter was already eight years old when I caught her mother's deception.  I did not leave, but I declared my decision to separate and end the relationship.  I stayed at home, co-parenting.  But no more intimacy, no sex.

I became more sociable at work and now have a lot of friends.

Thank you.
I will try these. I am left with one friend near me. I do not go out unless I need to buy groceries once a week. There is a nearby Starbucks I can go to and perhaps I will have coffee by myself and read a book tomorrow.
Thank you also for sharing your story. I tried to stay too, this is my second and perhaps last running away from home. I tried to co-parent but ex MIL is his number 1 flying monkey - a narcissist too and I cannot take it any  longer.
Now they are brainwashing my child that they want me to go back there. I share 80% of bills and maybe that is why they need me there. I do all chores. In short, though may work, nagpapalaki lang ng ano ang ex ko. He go out and have friends and have hobbies while I do not.
3 months now away from them. It's not easy, tug of war utak at heart, like right now. But I do not want to be there anymore, in that situation.
