Parents' Wedding
« on: July 14, 2014, 05:10:18 pm »
I dunno if there's already an existing thread but since I can't find one, here it goes.  ;D

My parents had a civil wedding before I was born. I would like to have them wedded in a church sana on their 50th birthday which would be 2 years from now. I don't need it to be so grand basta gusto ko lang maikasal na sila sa church, syempre sa lahat ng sacrifices nila, gusto ko naman maikasal na din sila finally sa church. so any suggestions guys?

Possible ba na kahit walang entourage wedding proper lang talaga? can you also suggest a church na ok na ok for a small and intimate wedding? my plan would be a wedding ceremony lang talaga, reception after, photo ops, kahit wala ng games haha! i dunno where and how to start, pa help naman please! sana marami mag reply hehe! tia!  ;D

btw, i am planning of a surprised wedding ceremony and celebration.

May kilala ko nagpakasal ater 20 years of being married sa civil kaya lang fernbrooks yun..
Yung entos kahit kayong mga anak nalang, and kahit 1pair of ps,need parin kasi to sa church, or kahit yung ninong nila sa kasal dati... Kung malakas and alive pa :) if budgeted wedding, diyan na lang sa parish nyo and yung mga suppliers dapat diyan na rin kayo sa inyo kukuha  para walang oot fees :) Goodluck sa prep sis :)

^thanks sis! Iniisip ko to last night and upon browsing, i came up with an idea of a wedding ceremony na walang entourage, pero if the church won't permit such, pwede naman na kami mag proxy ng siblings ko haha! Also, may kilala naman na ako for p/v baka maka haggle ako ng super cheap price and if ever maisipan ko magpa band, may kilala din ako na pwede ko kausapin. We have a salon, so pwede ko na din naman ipakiusap na lang HMU sa staff. I won't be investing on flowers since i don't need an entourage, pero for my mom's bouquet, syempre bobonggahan ko, and i will be placing a lot of balloons pero medyo UP ang theme and para magmukhang bagets. I also know a good caterer so hindi na din problem yun and ok naman ang foods dahil doon kami nagpapa cater ever since. Problem ko naman would be reception, medyo KJ kasi yung mom ko kaya hindi ako pwede magparty party, btw 50pax estimate ko, so simple dinner or food trip na lang sana is there any way to make it special kahit na walang games or anything? I am thinking of an outdoor set up sana, kaya lang wala akong makita, kung meron man, masyado pricey, can u suggest a place na cozy and nature friendly at the same time? Thanks!

Hmmm sa location naman, may i ask you what province nyo???

^thank you mga sis! Before dahil gusto ko nga church, im considering paco church kasi super ok siya for small intimate weddings. Pero pag naiisip ko na yung reception, anlaking problem kasi as i have mentioned nga, my mom's super KJ so hindi pwede ang party party kind of reception. So i have thought of a beach wedding na lang para everybody can relax and swim afterwards. But if i will be able to find a good church that is near by the beach, ok na ko sa ganoong set up. Im from the south btw. Im already dopping out balai isabel. Sine may rents' personality nga is or are like that, i would like to have an interactive reception kaya naisip ko food choices would be native foods tapos parang boodle fight. Para hindi sila mahiya or ma awkward kasi hindi nila masyado mafifeel na sila talaga yung center of attraction hahaha so mag eenjoy talaga sila. Diversion of activities and attentions kung baga.  ;D

brandi, nakita ko lang fb page ng Lights and Sounds (?) yung wedding pics ni Alvin Patrimonio and Cindy. not sure kung renewal of vows yun or church wedding. pero yung mga abay nila is yung mga anak din nila. kayong mga anak na lang din ang entourage. uso naman na ngayon na ang bridesmaids and groomsmen ang secondary sponsors na din e. Meron din ako nakita na blog before and now can't remember which blog site, but the couple also had a native/ filipiniana wedding. Yung cocktail hour nila, may mga isaw, bbq, scramble. So kung bet mo yung mga ganyan, I think mas tipid pa. All you need to do is find a tindera na magki- cater ng ganun food. Also, yung pag rent ng dirty ice cream is mura lang. My family's been doing this pag uuwe kame ng Pinas.

My aunt and uncle had their renewal of vows today at Lourdes in Tagaytay.
Naka formal lang mga anak nila, all 5 of them who walked as entourage, tapos the parents.
Planning to do the same for my parents' 30th anniversary in 3 years.

Did TS push through with her plan kaya?  :)

^good luck sis sa pagpa-plan ah. :)

My parents had their renewal recently. 40th wedding anniversary.
Kaming magkakapatid nagplan and it was our gift to them.
It was an intimate simple celebration lang din with family and close family friends.

Our tipid diskarte:
- entourage - immediate family lang
- invitations - DIY, wands
- bridal car - own car
- RTW gowns lang for ento

We were happy with the outcome.
Damang dama namin happiness ng parents namin.
And yehey kasama na kami sa new wedding pics. :)
Blessed lang din dahil hindi biro ang 40 years thats why we celebrated it.
