Probably not the telcos fault (it's very easy to blame them). But think again...

Pwedeng i-"farm" ang number mo from other sources such as:
- Facebook and other websites (posted your number online?) <<--- probably the easiest way to farm
- those in the streets that asks you to join raffle/get free stuff
- friends (especially those in MLMs)
- forms you have filled up in offices/stores
- application forms you fill up in the streets (credit cards, internet subscriptions)
- newspapers, directories
- pamphlets, fliers, calling cards
- and many other creative sources of getting them...

as for "farm" ang number, like fb, i dont think so, i dont put contact numbers in fb. di ko din pinapatulan yung mga freebbies and raffles.

^sis nku ng dami ko rin narereceive na ganyang sms. Often i add it in my spam list of numbers pwede naman yun sa samsung android phones. However for some sms na nang gogoyo na pasahan ko sila ng load i report them at this site: http://www.globe.com.ph/stopspam

Until now nakakareceive pa rin ako ng mga text na kunyari kamag anak ko daw na nadisgrasya at nagawa pa talagang manghingi ng load or taga PCSO na meron daw akong prize na kailangan iclaim kahit na wala naman akong sinasalihan. Nagtataka lang ako kung pano nakukuha since kakabili ko lang ng bagong sim card. Ang galing naman manghula ng mga tao na yun. Tsk tsk.

Pero sana magawan ng paraan ng mga telcos yung mga ganitong klase ng panloloko. Pag nireport yung number with enough evidence like screenshots, pwede dapat nila na iblock na yun tutal ginagamit lang naman sa masamang gawain.

so true, sis! simula ng magkapostpaid plan ako, di na'ko nawalan ng spam texts about condo, roaming, credit cards, at bank loan!! hay!!
