I'm planning to take up basic fashion design, pattern making and sewing at FIP where did you buy your tools guys? french curve and etc.?

Fashion design is now a days the big trend to learn. They always have amazing knowledge about fashion of anything. It is the good way to be aware from all the fashions in all over the world.

yung new friend ko from net, nagaaral ng fashion, and na-enganyo ako. parang narealize ko yun yung gusto ko. i'm currently graduating pa lang as compsci and parang i can see na isa sa pagiipunan ko pag may work na is to study fashion design.

I'm about to start my Basic Fashion design class sa FIP next week! Excited  I hope i'll be like some of you coz I can't really draw. I'm also thinking whether I should take Patternmaking after.. Merchandising is out of the question cause I that was my job for years  So now I'm not sure if I'll still learn new things from the course. i'm exploring the creative side now.. but also for business purposes in the future...
For those who took courses... if ever i took patternmaking would it be better if I pair it off with a sewing course as well?

I took up Basic and Advanced Pattern-making at FIP 6 years ago.  Want to go back and learn again/some more...  Who are the teachers now?  Ang naabutan ko pa si Aries Lagat (Project Runway Phils winner).

hi sisses. advise naman please. i'm planning to take course/s in FIP or any other schools na ok ang schedule. wala kong work ngayon.. and i'm planning to venture into business. anong courses ba pwede kong kunin in one term kasi ang plan ko is gown ang business.

hi! if you plan to specialize on gowns i suggest you take basic pattern making until the haute couture course. sa basic kasi you'll earn to draft basic silhouettes lang like skirts (there are alot) and just a basic top.in advance naman button plackets, pants, bias cut pattern,corset and then sa haute couture naman yung mga different collars, sleeves, draping etc

i took a basic sewing course, i think if you know how things are put together ok na yun...but there is also an advance sewing course offered. (tinamad lang ako to finish all the projects in the basic course, you have to finish everything to advance to the next level. same with fashion design and pattern making)

fashion design ganun din basic they teach you how to draw the croquis tapos sa advance different techniques of rendering like fur,leather etc he trick with fashion design is to really just practice.

yes you can take al the basic subjects in one go kasi one subject per day sila.maganda sa fip kasi you can ask the teachers for advice and they are really willing to help you. hindi sila madamot sa info

Hi I want to enroll in FIP sana im not from manila pa ask ko lang po if ano maganda una kunin na course since wala ako idea from sewing, pattern and designing but I can see myself doing this things gaya ng sherailyn sa IG. Ano po ba unang step na dapat ko ienroll? Meron po ba in 1month matapos na para di naman ako masyado magtagal.

planning to enroll in basic fashion design april 7-17 yun classes. might not be able to enroll in other classes kasi i was contacted by my previous employer. baka bumalik ako sa pagwowork.

to those who took up basic fashion design in FIP, i called kasi to inquire if bibili na ba agad ng tools before the 1st day..reason i ask is like @ramsmom, di ako taga-manila.. kaya medyo madugong byahe dadaanan ko dahil 9-6pm ang classes. baka wala na ko time to shop materials if ibibigay pa nila yun list on the first day.

@ramsmom: here's the summer workshop schedule of FIP. mas ok to if you're not working compared dun sa every saturday na classes na matagal bago matapos. gusto ko i-enroll lahat kaya lang baka kailangan ko na kasi magwork.

April 7 – April 17 Basic Fashion Design
April 20 – May 1 Basic Pattern Making
May 4 – May 15 Advanced Pattern Making
May 18 – May 29 Haute Couture
Tuesdays to Fridays, 9am to 6pm
Eight ( days or  two (2) weeks per course
These workshops are available both in Ortigas and Makati branches.
