^ i surrounded my baby with books. When she was able to sit na on her own, nakapaligid sa kanya yun books niya. At first she just liked learning how to turn the pages, then lifting the flaps, then being read to (actually more like looking at the pictures and me describing it).

Importante i think is you make the books very accessible to your baby.

^^read to your baby. get books that will encourage baby to touch and feel the pages. yung mga soft books. dun lang kami nag-start ng baby ko. now that he's 4, our trips to booksale would cost me 500-1000. either may free book kami or 5%discount. hehe! kabisado nya rin kung aling book ang meron na kami para di magdoble ang mga curious george namin. teka parang medyo OT na yata.

last year, he started browsing on youtube na. i always monitor what he's watching. and when he's playing, i would play naman mandarin or filipino read-alouds, nursery rhymes, etc. para ma-expose din sya to mandarin and para matuto na rin ng filipino. sayang nga e. ang lalabo ng mga batibot episodes sa youtube. and kaunti lang ang magaganda talagang youtube videos na tagalog - yung for kids ha. sana may magpost ng magagandang kid-friendly tagalog vids.

our new pedia is a dev ped and hasstrongly discouraged exposing baby to videos before turning 1. kausapin na lang daw or read books.

TV exposure is highly discouraged specially for babies below 2 as it can trigger ADHD etc.

I would have to agree with this, because we're all surprised that my 2 yr old niece has it (ADHD).
