Hi! Congratulations! Many People with -1200 grade  don't actually qualify for laser surgery. You are  very lucky! Yes, consider an enhancement. It is worth it!!!

That is a very common belief The truth is, the changes we make during Lasik are permanent. It is the eye ball that changes with time. Notice that Thalita's grade did not go all the way up to -1200. 550 is a good number for Lasik.

hi Dr. Richie, i have nearsightedness, grade of -625 and astigmatism (can't remember what grade, parang -175 ata). which of the Lasik treatments should i avail? i know i should undergo screening. but i am just asking for an initial opinion...i have been wanting to undergo this treatment for so long but i am afraid that i might go blind if something goes wrong during the procedure. i need my eyesight to continue working...

Congratulations on considering it! At this point, any of the Laser procedures (SMILE, LASIK, PRK,etc) will do. We narrow it down during the screening process. I know of your fears... I felt the same way when I had my Lasik done back in 2002 in UCLA.

Hello! I just got my lasik screening yesterday. I passed but the thing is I have to under go a corneal cross linking CXL procedure because according to the doctor I have a thin cornea. Medyo mahal [textspeak!] procedure kaya din I wanna ask if aside from Shinagawa where po kaya [textspeak!] ibang clinic who can do CXL and the lasik. Sabi ng consultant sa Shinagawa ZLasik daw ang tech na gagawin para manipis lang [textspeak!] kukunin na tissue. (Not sure if kukunin basta may someyhing on the tissue). Appreciate any comments sisses!!!

I am not sure about the price comparison. However, St.Luke's, PGH, American Eye have collagen crosslinking capability. Also, for thin corneas, there are other procedures that can be used to give you better vision without glasses. you have to be screened for them first tho.

got mine at Shinigawa last year October and cost me around P60k+.... i have been wearing eye glasses when I was in Grade 2 almost 30 yrs ago.

initially parang may buhangin yung feelings ng eyes ko then super sensitive sa light so lagi akong may dalang sunglasses but eventually gets better. I had a natural tear drops being used to freshen up my drying eyes (it's itchy at first and becomes blurry if too dry). Currently ok na siya, seldom drops needed for my eyes and got 20/10 vision as per my last check up..

Pros:
No more eye glasses
People noticed I look younger daw ( so nakakatanda ang eye glass)
Vision much clearer

Cons:
Bit pricey
Consistent check up for a year
Dry eyes

Very worth it now I can see the beauty of the world in a more clearer view.
