HELP Grade School around Binan, Laguna

  Mommies,

I need some help... any suggestion .We just moved in here in Binan ,Jubilation Area.

I have 2 boys( 10, 9 yrs old )  and 1 daugher(5 yrs old.) My kids currently enrolled at Perpetual School ( both of them are in Grade 4 ), which is the nearest school for us. But hmm how to tell this one.... I'm not satisfied with their teaching method. Since most of their lesson was already took up of my kids in their  former International school in Phnom Penh. This will be our first year in Philippines.

Like their Math they studied that particular subject when they where in Grade 2. It's really hard for them to adjust and we keep comparing the teaching method oversea and here in Philippines.

SO I really dont know If Perpetual school is realy good but they learnt how to speak tagalog in 2 months.... but the teacher are very helpful especially in tagalog subject they always guiding my kids and translating the words into english so they can understand.And they also have have free tutoring after class for FREE....

I hope you can suggest progressive school for my kids.


Schools that I've visited.


1. Brent  ------ toooo expensive
2. Jubilation International Montessori School -------------- facilities not good.
3. La Consolation ----------------  surroundings not so Safe.... at Binabaha... the're also using Chalk inside the classroom and my son have ashma.
4. Letran ----- we like their facilities and the books  are good but TOO FAR...
5. Don Bosco ------- super like  but already close for entrance exam.
6. St. Scholastica West grove ------ Best facilities for my daughter , but too far and the tuition for kinder 80thousand not included books and uniform....
7.  Xavier ------ very nice also but for my daughter 110thousand.
8. Greenfield International School ---- super expensive as well .
9. St Michael ------- 1 classmate of my son is from here, and the parent told me that their daughter is not learning anything thats why they transferred her in Perpetual...

Hay... hard to look and hard to be a MOM!.  any suggestion i will super appreciate it.

^sis im not a mom yet.. but try Colegio San Agustin in Binan... my bf studied there from elem-hs. all his siblings also are from there. i visited the school 3 weeks ago.. the classrooms are aircon, whiteboard.. inquire there nalang.. di ko alam teaching method nila eh

Hi Sis,

I graduated highschool from La Co and had childhood asthma too but this didn't became a problem to me before. Hmm...regarding the teaching...rank ko ito as average. Try Canossa school at Sta.Rosa, lapit lang dyan sa inyo.

...also looking for one, progressive school in Binan, we just transferred in Binan last year and we tried Colegio San Agustin for my daughter, its okay but so far they're more on the traditional method and we would like something more on progressive since shes more adept to it from her previous school and we're actually thinking of transferring her to La Consolacion since i heard progressive daw ang method dun. I haven't visited it yet ngayong friday pa lang, and also Alpha Angelicum Academy but i have to check the facilities first.

St michael's college of Laguna is now ISO certified so International standards. what year ba yung anak ng friend mo? you heard a different story about the school. baka naman yung bata talaga ang may deperensha

I wanted to share some thoughts on AA since I studied there my whole life and my daughter is currently studying there (she's in Junior Nursery). But it seems you've already chosen MC. But for the sake of those who are still deciding where to enroll their little girls, here's why I chose AA:

* Holistic and transformative education
* Smaller student population
* Location (I love that they have lots of trees!)

They say AA is too traditional, but coming from that school, I don't think so. The school also gets a lot of criticism about "controlling" the girls too much (i.e. they can't wear accessories aside from stud earrings and a watch; the only colors of hair ties/clips allowed are black, red, and white)--but it's really just all about realizing the meaning of simplicity.

So yes. I highly recommend AA.

Small student population per class. 4. English environment 5. And ofcourse maliit lang tuition fee. Pasuggest po please. Tia!
