Dealing with money matters can one of the most challenging aspects of a long-term relationship, especially in a marriage.
Luckily, Solenn and Nico had practice managing their household finances, as they lived together for five years before tying the knot.
To this successful couple, the solution is simple: Just handle your own finances. (via PEP.ph)
“Our finances are separate since day one!” Solenn said.
She remarked, “I don’t know how much he owns. He doesn’t know how much I own.”
Solenn acknowledged that their way was “very modern.”
She said, “Very separate, very individual…
“We have a joint bank account for house dues, just for me to pay like groceries or stuff like that.
“But aside from that, I don’t know how much he earns. He doesn’t know how much I earn.”
What’s the reason for this kind of agreement?
Solenn simply said, “It’s none of my business.
“I mean, we both work. For me, it’s none of my business.”
But Solenn added there can be a possibility for this arrangement to change, “When we have a kid, maybe it will change.
“But for now, it’s chill.”
Of course, every couple has their own way of managing money. What matters is that you reach an agreement that benefits both parties. Here's how you can get started.
