Solenn Heussaff is totally comfortable with the financial set-up that she and husband Nico Bolzico currently have. Would you believe they're both clueless about their individual savings?

"Oo, kasi wala akong paki," Solenn tells PEP.ph in an interview at the presscon of her upcoming series Cain at Abel.

But Solenn clarifies that it's not that they don't talk about money. "He knows naman how much I earn, ganun... but he doesn't know kung may savings ako or kung wala."

Solenn prefers this arrangement because she doesn't want money to be the cause of their fights.

"I think it’s healthy, kasi if you think about it, life in general, not just marriage, but friends, business, 'pag may away, it’s always financial, it’s always about money."

So, they decided to set a fixed amount for their joint account, where they withdraw the monthly household expenses.

Solenn said, "May joint account na every month, same yung amount na nilalagay namin.

"So pag kailangan kong magbayad ng bills for the house or ganun, dun ko kinukuha."

She also reveals that they shoulder their personal expenses.

"Pag travel ko, sa bank account ko, pag travel niya, sa bank account niya. Very modern!"

With this set-up, and since they both work hard for their money, they have the freedom and flexibility to plan and spend their earnings however they choose.

In a previous interview with Solenn, she said, "Basta this amount goes to our joint account, you can do what you want with the rest.

"This saves us from the trouble of having monthly discussions about money.

"I don't have to inform him also about my purchases, and, siya rin.

"Although, I'm not really the maluho type. I actually have very basic needs, even in fashion. Hindi ako 'yung always branded clothes.

"Siguro the bulk of my personal expenses, sa travels.

"But I know my budget.

Solenn revealed it helps that they have "predictable" needs.

"I guess this set-up works because we pretty much have the same lifestyle.

"We also do not eat out often.

"Kumbaga, wala yung mga surprising expenses na, 'Saan galing yun?'"

But while this arrangement works for them now, Solenn and Nico will most likely change their set-up once they have a baby.

She added, "Oo, madadagdagan ang amount. And aside from the monthly expenses, there must be an account for the baby's future as well."
