Manila-based Oh Happy Day events+design never do things by halves—just take a look at what they did for Team Kramer’s Scarlett’s second birthday party—although the work that goes into such meticulous planning is that of two sides of the same coin. Longtime friends MC Sison, 26, and Jenn Zulueta-Hernandez, 27, founded Oh Happy Day after the former, who was then an associate producer for Lifestyle Network, asked Jenn’s help for an event.

"I remember talking with MC up to the wee hours of the morning sharing our what-if’s and what we could do if we have our own events company," says Jenn who was then the creative brand genius for The Picture Company.

The prospect of starting their own business was exciting, but it was not exactly been the easiest decision to make. MC and Jenn had had to weigh their options very carefully before they could take a leap of faith.

"It was hard for me to leave the network that time, I love TV production and event planning but it came to a point that I needed to choose what I would really be happy to do," says MC who does all the planning, PR work, and client and supplier relations. "I knew that Oh Happy day events + design is something that I want to pursue even after five or 10 years from now."

Jenn, on the other hand, ultimately chose the path that would help her improve her craft. "It’s also important for me to hold my own schedule because I have a family to take care of. I figured that Oh Happy Day events+design is the perfect venue for me to express my creativity and to grow as an aspiring individual."
