Panahon na ulit ng suweldo, pero bago ka lumabas ng bahay para mag-withdraw, isipin mo na muna ang game plan mo with paying bills, especially amidst COVID-19.

First of all, download the app of the bank that has your payroll account. From here, you can easily see how much you got from your last pay period.

After setting aside an amount for savings, ask yourself what utilities you can actually pay for online. Mainam na bayaran mo na muna ang mga ito. Now is the best time to check out the apps and websites of the banks and services that you usually use.  Depending on your payroll account, you can:

1. Pay your dues directly from it, or;

2. Transfer money to another savings account or to a mobile payment app.

If you need to, mag-install ka na ng GCash or Paymaya. Between these two apps, you can effectively pay most of your utility bills and even your credit card dues.

Para hindi mo malimutan kung alin na ang iyong mga nabayaran, list them down in a small budgeting notebook. Unfortunately, we can't say for sure how long this quarantine will last, so it's best to monitor your cashflow this way, instead of through physical bills (it's greener, too!). May receipts din naman lagi if you pay online, so it's also easy to backtrack when you get lost.

The perk of online transactions is that aside from allowing you to pay your bills faster, you also interact with less people, and you don't need to physically give and receive money. While enhanced community quarantine is still enforced, it's best to only leave your home when it's really, really necessary. So kung pupunta ka sa grocery and you really need to withdraw from the bank, ipagsabay mo na sa iisang lakad. If you're going to use the ATM machine, best wear a pair of gloves which you can sanitize after pressing buttons.

Remember that at this time, mas mainam na gumawa ng sistema na makapagpapabawas sa iyong paglabas. Whatever that system is, as long as it works, then you're good to go.
