When you all work long hours day in and day out, everything seems like an uphill battle. You’re physically and mentally exhausted, and you find yourself working halfheartedly as the days wear on. This is what happens when everyone in the team is unmotivated. You clock-in, do your job, and go home. Nothing more, nothing less.

You could continue on the way you are, but you could also start a change. You could motivate your team members, and lead a creative revolution to get you all out of the rut. Feel like being that spark plug? Check out our suggestions below:

1. Be excited to go to work.

Remember that time when you used to spring out of bed every morning and excitedly choose what to wear to the office? Channel that feeling again. Instead of wearing just any old outfit, put on something that makes you feel good. Blow dry your hair, put on some makeup, and wear a smile on your face. Don’t be so surprised when you start seeing your team putting more effort into their wardrobe the next day.

2. Talk to them about possible ideas.

When you’re used to the same old routine and system operation, you tend to feel like nothing new can be done about it. But once you start thinking of possible ideas, then you’ll feel a little more motivated. Bring your new ideas to your team members, and ask for their input. Get them to open up, and encourage them to constantly think of new ways to achieve company goals or new suggestions that might make your day at the office more interesting. Pretty soon, they’ll start going to you with ideas of their own.

3. Give them a thumbs up.

Another way to motivate your team members is to give credit where credit is due. When they’ve done a good job, don’t think that the results are reward enough. Tell them how much you appreciate their staying late or their participation in today’s meeting. Knowing that you’ve noticed their efforts will push them to do even better the next time around.
