The need (and want) to have extra cash is universal, but sidelines and rakets aren’t for everybody. If you want to earn a little bit more than what your day job provides you but can’t commit your time to a regular side hustle, here are a few ideas that may help you out.

1. Sell your stuff!

Summer is probably the best time to clear out your closets since you’ve got several holidays off work to do so. Do an inventory of your clothes and other items that you think other people can still use, and try selling them on online platforms such as OLX or even dedicated Facebook groups. It’s instant cash, plus you get to invite good, clean vibes into your home.

2. Rent your place out.

This country never runs out of tourists, so if you’re comfortable with it and you have another place to spare (or sleep in), offer your own flat for short-term leases. You can sign up to be a host at AirBnB, HomeAway, and Tripping to make things easier for you.

3. Be a local tour guide.

The lakwatsera in you will be happy, as you can finally earn from all your experience. Whether you’re a city or a beach girl, put your hometown knowledge to good use. You can try coming up with seasonal walking tours during your free time, or even offer to come along with groups that aren’t familiar with your place. Just make sure that the destinations in your itinerary are safe and secure; best leave the more complicated and dangerous ones to expert guides.

4. Sell what you love doing for limited periods.

Things that you love doing don’t feel like a sideline or a chore. If you like baking, why not sell the cookies you make? Or if you’re interested in crafts, offer to create customized products for friends. The good thing about this is your time is your own, and you’re earning cash while having fun with your hobby. Who knows—maybe it’s even your calling!

5. Look into financial investments.

If you really want to grow your money, then putting it in the proper investment vehicle is the way to go. You can start with mutual funds, which don’t really need a lot of monitoring, or if you’re feeling more adventurous, you can take classes about playing the stock market and put your eggs in that basket.
