The birth certificate is widely accepted as a proof of identification during job hunts, other ID applications, and more. Gone are the days of long queues and errands days just to obtain a copy—application can be done online, with the document delivered straight to your doorstep a few days later.
One copy of the birth certificate via the PSA Helpline website is P365. You can order multiple copies in one order. Payments for the document can be made online through GCash, PayMaya, and credit card. Over the counter channels such as 7-Eleven, BancNet, and DragonPay are also accepted.
Shipping can take three to four working days in Metro Manila and seven to eight working days for provincial orders.
Here's how to apply for a birth certificate online:
Go to the PSA Helpline website and click "Get started."
Select the document of your choice. For this one, we applied for a birth certificate.
Fill in your information. You will be asked for your name, birthday, birthplace, father's name and mother's maiden name.
Afterwards, you'll be asked for your current address. The document will be shipped to this location, so be sure it's correct. Have a valid ID so you can claim your birth certificate.
Proceed to payment. We selected GCash. You'll have to supply your phone number so you can enter a one-time pin for the transaction to push through.
After payment, you will see confirmation on screen. You will also receive a confirmation of your order via e-mail.
