In recent years, the dating scene has become more accessible thanks to technology. One swipe on your phone while you're lying comfortably on your bed and you might just find your match. What comes after swiping (i.e. the small talk and getting to know each other stages) is the tricky part, but we'll save that for another day. Bottom line is, dating's already been made handy-literally-and yet it seems that a lot of people, particularly the young ones, would still rather stay single.

Young adults today are wary of falling in love.

An article on Psychology Today details the results of a 2018 survey conducted by dating app Tinder to 1,036 single young adults between the ages of 18 and 25. One of the findings elaborated on was that young people feel wary of getting into relationships for fear of missing out on the person they're really meant to be with. 54 percent said they felt apprehensive about settling down "for the wrong reasons" while 38 percent said they're scared to miss out "on someone better."

Career muna bago love life

It's not just about being with the wrong people. Young adults are also afraid to lose the freedom to work on themselvesparticularly their career, first. One of the survey questions asked why they're currently single, and 33 percent said it's because they "wanted the freedom to focus on their personal life or career."

Yep, career muna bago love life. Nothing wrong with that, of course, and it's also cool if you have both. Either way, there shouldn't be any pressure to rush into relationships if you're just not ready yet.
