Ashley Madison, the world’s leading dating website for married people, has revealed the leading causes of people—specifically, their users—cheating on their partners.
For the study, the affair site gathered over 2,000 of its members and asked what made them sign up. Apparently, sex is the number one reason why they are there, with 61 percent of the users admitting that they use the website to get laid.
Other reasons include exploring new desires (45 percent), looking for affection (44 percent), for friendship (42 percent), and for the feeling of butterflies in their stomach again (30 percent).
Aside from that, the survey also revealed what cheaters enjoy most about having an affair:

“The reasons why people cheat are very telling of the types of relationships that people find themselves in,” says Isabella Mise, director of communications for Ashley Madison.
“When sex and intimacy fade, often times monogamy becomes a struggle for our members but they don’t want to leave their partner altogether. Infidelity is an avenue for them to have certain needs that met and stay happy in their primary relationship,” she adds.
This just proves that having a fantastic sex life is not enough to keep the fire in your relationship burning. Don’t forget to satisfy your partner not just physically, but emotionally as well.
