Karylle sees singlehood as something to be embraced. In a February interview with Pep.ph, she said, "I always tell people, especially yung mga bagong single... I give them a big hug, and I keep saying, 'Please don't have a boyfriend.' Like, don't rush to your next relationship. Just have a relationship with yourself."
The Mystified star knows that being in a relationship can be "tempting" especially when someone becomes "sweet and they hold your hand and then they're watching K-Drama, and then you're probably like, 'Oh my god I want that!'
"But no, it's so nice to be single...It's like the best time to get to know yourself and just get it together and hang out with your friends. Masaya. Be single and enjoy for a while, di ba?"
Karylle firmly believes that every woman goes through their own journey, and that one should not be in a rush simply because others are getting married or pregnant, or at different stages in their lives.
"For my batch, hati-hati pa rin, e. I can't say that majority got married late. I mean, I know a lot of people who got married late, but I can't say they're the majority. But I guess it happens in your own pacing talaga, e," the Showtime co-host noted. "A lot of people do advice to do your career first, but I think it's different for different women.
"Sometimes, kunwari in 'Tawag ng Tanghalan', there are singers who do a career comeback at the age of 30 once they have had a child. And that's, in my head, the opposite of me. I respect them.
"And there's also that other side, which is me, that I work first. And I enjoy the time that it's me and my husband, so different talaga, e. It really depends on the woman."
