1Being a mother is a full-time job in itself, but for some moms who need to go to the office to bring food on the table, motherhood becomes an Olympian challenge. Balancing a nine-to-five job (that sometimes goes beyond the time frame) and being a good mother means you get less time for yourself. So, how do our GIRLTalk working moms do it? Read their comments below!

1. Get support from family and friends.

From GIRLTalker ApplePie:
I live overseas, so no yaya or house maid My son goes to day care twice a week and three days with a baby sitter (she's my mom's friend and she's Filipino).

From GIRLTalker treesyuh:
I'm a full-time working single mom, too! Okay naman. I have a very supportive family who is helping me with my kid. My baby is the star of the family. When I'm at work, she is normally left with my mom and her yaya. Silang tatlo ang nag-aalaga sa kung saan saan. I tend to balance everything naman—work, social life, family. I even sometimes have weekend work good thing sa gabi naman 'yung mga events ko pag weekends.

2. Be extra OC.

From GIRLTalker emeenem:
My daughter is a year old and good thing my employer is giving me a super flexi schedule. I work from home in the morning and go the the office in the afternoon na until 7pm. So in the morning, I get to change her diapers pa, bathe her, feed her and play with her.

I leave her with a yaya and a maid para dalawa sila, and I call her every hour via video call to check on her and the yaya, too.

My hubby naman works [the] night shift. So, medyo hindi nababakante si baby kahit tulog lang all the time asawa ko. Iba pa rin na nandoon siya kasi kapag kunwari nahulog o nadapa, iiyak ng malakas, magigising siya so walang palusot ang yaya.

In the future naman, my plan is that when she starts school, I'll apply as a teacher din para sabay kami at mabantayan ko siya kahit papaano.

From GIRLTalker liyapot:
The yaya comes in the room at 7am, and she takes care of the baby until I come home sa gabi. Ako ang nag-aalaga sa gabi. I don't care if I lose sleep from frequent feedings or playing ni baby in the middle of the night ine-encourage ko pa nga 'yun kasi 'yun na lang ang bonding time namin.

I check our notebook when I come home: check ko ang feedings, vitamins, water. Check ko ang cloth diaper basket kung naka ilang palit so I'm still in the "know" sa baby ko kasi when I'm at work, di ako nakakatawag sa bahay. I know I rely too much on the notebook baka pinepeke ng yaya, pero kino-compute ko ang vitamins kung ilang araw; ang milk din hahaha!! Medyo OC pero it comforts me in a way na at least alam ko well-fed siya and complete ang vitamins etc.

3. Maximize your weekends.

From GIRLTalker yapeegurl:
I am working 12 hours a day and two days lang ang off ko sa isang linggo. Kaya talaga nga naman todo effort ako pag off ako para full energy ako to be a wife, a mom, and an employee (a friend, a cook, etc! LOL)

From GIRLTalker rnd0910:
I am a full-time employee and a weekend mom kasi yoong son ko na 2 1/2 yrs old nasa province sa mama ko.

4. Trust your kid, too.

From GIRLTalker maribeth
It's really difficult to leave the children just like that in the day care, but it's just a matter of getting used to it. At the end of the day, my children [don't] even want to go home kasi enjoy naman sila sa paglalaro. Trust your child's instinct. Di naman nila magugustuhan doon kung di sila comfortable e. And a working mom needs to be very good in time management, without this, it will be stressful.
