Does your tween have a crush on her cute classmate? Don't freak out, it's just normal. But what are your thoughts on your tween dating? That's rather hard to imagine, isn’t it? After all, it wasn’t that long ago when your child was playing with her dolls and trailing after you everywhere you went.

But while all kids have to grow up some time, there is a bit of wisdom in not letting them out of your sight too early. According to Rosalind Wiseman, author of Queen Bees & Wannabes (the book that inspired the film Mean Girls), in an article on the Wall Street Journal,children lack the skills to handle it, including setting personal boundaries and knowing they have the right to privacy.

In the same article, it is said that perhaps your notion of tween dating is not exactly what your daughter is doing. “Tween couples talk mostly via text and chat. Their relationships are fleeting but all-consuming. They date in packs—but expect their boyfriends and girlfriends to be monogamous. And they keep their parents largely in the dark.”

As a parent, it’s understandable for you to be worried. According to an article on Dr. Phil, "teenagers shouldn't have serious dating relationships. No 14-year-old needs to have an intense boyfriend or girlfriend." Is your tween already begging you to allow her to go on a date on Valentine's Day? Here are five ways to help you delicately handle the situation:
