This is it. You've finally met someone who stands out from the crowdsomeone who makes you laugh and even motivates you to get up in the morning. He's so special that you want him to be yours alone. But the question is, are you ready to commit? Answer these questions truthfully to find out:

1. Do you need a signifant other to feel happy?

Expecting happiness from others is not a sure ticket to being genuinely happy. What if your beau goes through a rough time and stops being a ball of sunshine? Then you’ll probably stop being happy, too. You can’t hope for someone to fill the void. It’s your duty to create your own happiness, not others.

2. Can you sustain it?
A relationship can eat up a chunk of your life. You need to devote time, invest emotions, and even spend money. Be sure you're willing to make the extra effort before you start saving up for your first weekend getaway.

3. Are you free of emotional baggage?
When we say baggage, we mean any feelings towards an ex or even an almost lover (TOTGA anyone?) Whether you’re still hoping for a second chance or you continue to harbor ill will towards them, you are still thinking about them. When you can’t let go of these thoughts, your next partner might just be a rebound.

4. Are you willing to compromise?
You are two different persons, and sometimes you two won’t agree on the same things. Are you comfortable with the fact that you'll have to meet halfway and change your routine? If the answer is no, then you'll probably have to give yourself time before you take the plunge.

5. Do you accept everything about him?
Everybody has deal breakers, but no one's perfect. Your future beau will have tiny quirks and major flaws. You have to be willing to accept the whole package, and some days will definitely challenge your patience.

6. Why do you want to be in a relationship with this person?
Is it because you can see a great future (or a couple of years) together or is it because you want his company? Before declaring your love, assess if you're just smitten with the idea of love or being able to call someone your boyfriend. There's nothing wrong if you don't want to pursue a relationship with someone you're dating, but just make sure that both parties know where they really stand.
