Dinner and a movie? Been there, done that! If you and your guy are itching for a different kind of date, consider filling up the gas tank or booking an impromptu flight for an out-of-town date instead. After all, you're in the Philippines, where there are plenty of places that you can visit.

Ready for an out-of-town date? Check out our suggestions below:

1. Take a gastronomic tour of each other’s provinces.
Filipino cuisine is as diverse as our dialects, so why not take advantage of everything your respective provinces have to offer and get to know each other even more through food? Nilasing na hipon, anyone?

2. Take a helicopter ride over our islands.
Our islands are a sight to behold, especially from above. Book a helicopter flight with any of the country’s reliable helicopter services, and you’ll never look at Boracay or Caramoan the same way again.

3. Go horseback riding.
Horseback riding is one of the most popular activities you can do in Tagaytay. Practice your equestrian skills on the way to Taal Volcano where the view on your way to the top is nothing short of breathtaking.

4. Swim with the whale sharks.
Whale sharks are gentle giants and are primarily found in Donsol, Sorsogon or Oslob, Cebu. Just make sure you check whether it's butanding season first!

5. Take a cruise from Manila Bay to Corregidor.
Corregidor is only a little over an hour away from Manila. Once a military fortress and a strategic base of operations during World War II, it is now a popular tourist attraction. Check out one of the oldest lighthouses in the Philippines, the abandoned military buildings, and the Malinta Tunnel.
