Being in a relationship is fun—you’ll always have someone to go to the movies with or someone to ask you how your day went—but being single is no poor substitute either. Here's a list of very-good-no-BS reasons why!

1. You can go anywhere you want whenever you want.
If you feel like hitting Tagaytay one Saturday morning, you can! P.S. The breakfast menu at TAZA Fresh Table, Taal Vista Hotel is worth waking up early for!

2. And go easy on the wax.
Good grooming is important no matter what your dating status is, but admit it: It’s such a relief to be able to push those appointments back when you’re too lazy to get out of bed on a weekend.

3. There's no drama.
Except for the ones you watch on iFlix.

4. You can spend as much time with your friends as you want.
When you’re in a relationship, spending more time with your S.O. is a given. Hanging out with the barkada, even if they're friends with your man, inevitably takes a backseat. But when you're single, you can spend the whole night catching up with your BFFs—no questions asked.

5. Or spend just as much time in solitude.
A little alone time can do you a lot of good. It enhances your creativity, improves your decision-making skills, and enables you to appreciate yourself more. Save for your friends and family who probably already know your habits, no one else needs to be made to understand why you want to hole up in your room every once in a while.

6. Walang magseselos.
Or rather, walang taong may karapatang mag selos. You can hang out with your best guy friend all day and IT. WILL. NOT. BE. AN. ISSUE.

7. You’re not limited.
While you should still have the freedom to do whatever you want when you're in a relationship, it’s just not the same as when you don’t have anyone you need to think of first. You live by your own rules.

8. You learn to be independent.

No one’s going to change the proverbial light bulb for you anymore, so you’ll have to learn to do it and a lot of other things on your own. This is a good thing, FNites! Pretty soon, you’ll be able to unclog your own sink, change your own tire, and basically give Betty Cooper and Rosie the Riveter a run for their money.

9. And to put yourself first.
Frankly, we don’t prioritize ourselves as much as we should. The single life changes all that. It allows you to devote more time and energy to personal growth, so whether you want to learn a new language, be a master calligrapher, or pursue higher education abroad is up to you.

10. Your future is what you make it.
When you're in a relationship, your train of thought inadvertently turns to marriage, family, or at the very least, moving in together. While all these are exciting in their own right, the possibilities seem multiplied for the single girl. You can move out, switch careers, or quit your job and travel abroad without upending anybody's life but your own.
