Like in 2020, the visa-free grant does not take precedence over COVID-19 measures and entry regulations in Taiwan. Tourism and regular social visits are still banned. Foreign nationals visiting Taiwan for non-leisure purposes may apply for a special entry permit, present negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test results issued within three working days, register into the Quarantine System for Entry, and undergo a 14-day quarantine period.
