La Union is a province in the Ilocos Region and its capital is San Fernando. Within La Union is the municipality of San Juan, dubbed the surfing capital of Northern Philippines. The waves from the nearby beaches of San Juan are suitable for both beginners and pros. It's a great place to get away, especially if you're with your friends and loved ones. The last time that my friends and I were in La Union, we stayed at the Sea Park Beach Resort. It's about a six hour drive from Manila, not counting stops.
