Filipinos generally embrace any reason to celebrate wholeheartedly, so Christmas, with its message of joy, happiness, and cheer, is not only welcomed, but embraced.

But where did the symbols and traditions that we associate with Christmas come from? Why do we have a Christmas tree in our homes, and what about the Christmas wreaths we hang on our doors?
