We all have our own creepy stories to share. There are urban legends and that are passed through the grapevine: like the fabled white lady of Balete Drive, mysterious hitchhikers, and various accounts of ghosts haunting places with death-riddled histories. Still, the most chilling stories would probably be the ones narrated by people who actually experienced them and had lived to tell their tale. Read on for a selection of spine-tingling real-life horror stories from our very own GIRLTalkers!

1. Sweetsweet on Creepy Horror Stories in Your House (Chapter 3)

“Last week while I was browsing our pictures dito sa loob ng bahay (our happy Christmas and New Year's pictures), natakot ako kasi hindi ko nakikita dati pag sa camera ko lang naba-browse yung pictures. And what's creepy is mga mukha ng wild animals like wolves, dogs, tigers ang makikita mo.

(Last week, while I was browsing our happy Christmas and New Year’s pictures inside our house, I got frightened because I used to not be able to see the photos properly when I was browsing in my camera. When I transferred them to the PC [I have a giant monitor for my work so the pictures are also big], I got goosebumps when I saw our shots on the sofa beside the windows. You could clearly see that there are faces looking inside our house outside our windows, and some were even looking at the camera. And what’s creepy is that you can see faces of wild animals like wolves, dogs, and tigers, and their eyes all have piercing gazes. It’s very evident because the lighting inside our house is yellow and the one outside is rather grayish.

I don’t know how to describe it, sisters, because they were outside our window in all our pictures. I just think of them as the guardians outside our house.

I also noticed an orb in our pictures, when you zoom into it a little, you could see that it has a smiley face. Haha. This particular orb would always join our pictures.”)

“This happened 'nung high school ako sa CR sa school (same CR na nakita ko 'yung walang ulo na bata). This time may ibang tao naman sa CR kasi lunch time.

(“This happened when I was in high school, in the same CR where I saw a headless child. This time, there was someone else in the CR because it was lunchtime. So I was brushing my teeth, but I was looking down so I couldn’t see the mirror. Then I felt all the hair on my body stand, I felt my head swelling, I really got goosebumps…I felt that there was another presence so I didn’t look in the mirror, and I looked sideways to check if the people beside me felt it, but they’re just chatting as usual. While combing my hair, I summoned the courage to look at the mirror, and there I saw a face of a lady appear in front of my face, she came near and put her head on my shoulder. It was a woman in black, her aura was dark, her eyes were glaring, her hair was messy, she had black eyeliner and lipstick, in short, she looked like a witch. My eyes widened, I dropped my comb in the sink, I wanted to shout. I looked at the people beside me, but I was the only one who can see the woman. I looked at the mirror again, she was still there, side by side with my face. Her eyes were glaring, like she was mad at me. Until the person beside me noticed, because I kept dropping my things while I was fixing them; I was starting to tear up because I was so afraid. I felt that she was so powerful. So there…I left the CR without anyone else seeing the witch.”)

“I’d like to share my story way back when I was like 7-8 years old. I have this doll given by my aunt from the US, it's like a life size baby doll na sitting position.

Whenever I am alone I notice or I am seeing her face na nagfa-frown (this doll has a smiling face) and her eyes do not close, but apparently, kapag tinitignan ko siya pumipikit siya at sumisimangot kaya nga I don't buy dolls for my daughter, baka ma-experience niya ang nangyari sakin.

Whenever I am alone, I would notice that she's frowning. This doll has a smiling face and her eyes do not close, but apparently, whenever I look at her, she would close her eyes and frown. That’s why I don’t buy dolls for my daughter, because she might experience what happened to me.)

Namasyal kami nun sa Luneta, and may isang maliit na museum 'dun mostly out of recycled materials ang naka-display. Nag-selfie ako sa isang statue, color white and medyo creepy yung ichura nya but it looks so cool.

After ilang days, I was browsing the photos tapos nung natitigan ko 'yung picture ko with the statue, a child was beside me, nakayuko and her little hand was holding my face. Sobrang putla ng kamay nya, mahaba buhok and naka-white but hindi kita yung mukha. I am very sure hindi 'yun 'yung statue.”

(We went to Luneta, and there’s a small museum there that displays objects mostly made out of recycled materials. I took a selfie in front one statue, it was white and it looked a bit creepy, but it looks so cool. I only used a cell phone, and the shot was a bit blurry. I didn’t capture the whole statue, as the picture was mostly occupied by my face. Hehe.

After a few days, I was browsing the photos, then when I looked at my pictures with the statue, a child was beside me, bowing, and her little hand was holding my face. Her hand was so pale, she had long hair and she was in white, but her face can’t be seen. I am very sure that that wasn’t the statue.)

“I was one of those people who didn't believe about dwendes, kapre, tikbalang or shall we say mga lamang lupa... Nakahiga ako nun sa bed namin with my eyes opened at naka-side view ako noon looking on our door pero open siya at may curtain. It was our first week dito sa bahay namin. At talagang sobrang dami naming na-experience noong first week na yun. Pero awa ng diyos wala na ngayon.

(I was one of those people who didn’t believe in dwarves, kapres, tikbalangs, or shall we say, other creatures…I only believed in ghosts because I saw one once when I was pregnant with my first child. But when we moved to our house, I experienced seeing a dwarf. It’s such a small person, sis. I was lying down on my bed with my eyes open and I was on my side looking at our door, but it was open and it had a curtain. Below that curtain, a tiny person dressed in a polo and pants suddenly ran. The lights were slightly dimmed so I thought at first that it was a rat, but I saw him raise his arm, as if he was signaling, 'faster, you should run.' I didn’t see what he was signaling to, but I knew that it was really a dwarf because I pinched myself to make sure that I was awake at that time…I really thought that dwarfs had big ears and that they wore glittery clothes, and that they had big shoes. That happened on our first week in our house. And we really experienced a lot during that first week. But nothing’s happening anymore, thank god.)
