In a January 2021 statement, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson pledged to become a leader in environmental sustainability, saying, “Our aspiration is to become resource positive – storing more carbon than we emit, eliminating waste, and providing more clean freshwater than we use,” adding that they “will shift from single-use to reusable packaging.”
