Real Living's 27-year-old letter sender shared a bedroom with his younger brother, but eventually decided to transfer to another room. “Sobrang gulo niya sa kwarto (He's so messy in the room.),” relates the financial analyst. “Hindi ko na-take, so lumipat ako sa [ibang] room (I couldn't take it anymore, so I moved to another room.).”
The extent of the damage made to his room is evidenced by the absence of a bed frame—one of his brother’s parties got a little out of hand, resulting in a wrecked frame that was beyond repair. His brother thus had to sleep Japanese-style on a mattress laid on the floor. While the letter sender was ejected from his own room, much of his stuff was left behind, including his drum set.
He wanted to reclaim his territory and give it a brand new look. He was getting tired of the sad state of his bedroom, and was even contemplating painting the walls himself. He also couldn’t figure out where to display his growing toy collection—about 30 Spawn and Dragon figures (with about 30 more still in their clamshells).
Paraphrasing the standard quote on a popular MTV show, he pleaded in his letter, “Please, Real Living, pimp my room!”Get more home makeover ideas from the December-January issue of Real Living Philippines, out on stands now!
