“I’m a contest freak!” the winner of Real Living’s Real Makeover winner declares. Apart from teaching at a kumon center, she joins contests daily, surfing the Net for promos as she sips her morning coffee. She’s won an assortment of little prizes, cash, and even some trips. “Naniniwala na ako doon sa ‘Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga (I believe in the saying 'what you sow, you reap.').’”

The luck apparently runs in the family. We learned that the homeowner found out about the makeover promo from her sister, who herself had won a Real Makeover in 2007! “She convinced everyone to write—officemates, kami,” narrates the homeowner. So she wrote in to tell us about the single bedroom she shared with her husband and two kids at her in-laws’ house.

“[My husband] and I have been getting backaches—me, from sleeping horizontally on the bed, in between the boys, and [my husband] from sleeping on the floor!” she wrote.

Real Living brought in Lisa Salvador to re-work the family’s room. Having previously worked on a shared bedroom (Real Makeover, June 2007), Lisa knew exactly what to do with the space.

Find out how the room turned out in the gallery below!
