Like many daughters, the winner of Real Living’s home makeover wanted nothing but the best for her parents. She had moved out of the family home to live with her husband, but she still longed to give her parents a beautiful home. As a Father’s Day gift to her dad who undergoes dialysis three times a week, the good daughter wanted to win the Ultimate Makeover.

“We cannot afford to have a home makeover due to our expenses for my father’s health condition. His life is important above everything else,” she wrote. Because her parents were at the clinic thrice a week, they didn’t have time to fix up the house. Much of it had fallen to disrepair: the walls had been eaten by termites, the roof leaked and damaged most of the ceiling, and accumulated belongings occupied every nook and cranny. The cramped house had also expanded over the years to accommodate the growing family, starting with a main shell and the addition of a clutter-strewn foyer and galley kitchen later on.

It was a mammoth task, but designer Grace Moslares was more than glad to do it for this kindhearted family. She and her team worked overtime for 10 days, practically demolishing the old house and erecting a brand new one. See how the makeover turned out by browsing through the gallery.
