There were such high hopes for the renovation project. The family had the first floor of their home redone, converting the old kitchen into their dining room, and turning the maid’s room into the new kitchen. But the renovation project somehow lost steam.
As a result, the dining room remained unfinished. The bottom half of the dining room walls were of bare cement, there were remnants of the old kitchen counters that were torn out, and the overall space looked cluttered and sad. “I want it simple, [but] it did not come out [the way I wanted it to]—there was no personality at all, says the winner of Real Living’s home makeover.
For its kitchen special, the magazine asked designer Andrew Galano to finish what the family started. Read on to see the result.
