Q: How long has Real Living been around?
Rachelle: It has been around since July 2003, and it was created by then-editor Apol Lejano-Massebieau and her founding team, which included creative director Tracie Anglo and our longtime style editor Gwyn Guanzon. We’re celebrating our 10th anniversary next month.
Q: What makes it different from other home magazines?
A: If you’ve noticed, we’re not your ordinary shelter magazine. Instead of just featuring beautiful homes, we give you loads of tips within the actual house article on how you can create the same look in your own home. We also have dozens of industry professionals like architects, interior designers, contractors, and stylists who we get as resource persons for the magazine. Reading Real Living is like having your own interior designer friend at your side to help you out!
Q: What are your plans for your tenth anniversary!
A: Expect a fresher, more beautiful, and practical Real Living in July. We’ve re-designed it in time for its 10th anniversary; but it’s still like the Real Living you’ve always loved—but better! You’ll find more shopping pages, more designer tips and store info on each page.
Q: What’s your biggest story in your anniversary issue?
A: Our “50 Answers to 50 Home Questions.” We made it just for our readers, who in the past six months sent in hundreds of home- and maintenance-related questions to our Facebook page. Watch for it, you may find your actual question there, answered by our experts!
Q: Real Living has always been known for the makeovers. Will you still have them?
A: We were the first magazine to hold a monthly makeover where we gave everything for free, and yes, you can still join our monthly makeovers. Send in your photos, a brief description of the area, and your complete name, address, and contact numbers to email@example.com.
