Celebrities have enviable closets that are filled with gowns, cocktail dresses, hundreds of shoes, and designer bags that they need for their tapings and shows. What we do not know is that these closets do get stuffed with belongings, and like most of us, these actresses need to de-clutter once every often.
This happened to Iza Calzado, who recently decided to purge her wardrobe in time for her 36th birthday (August 12). In an Instagram post dated August 20, 2018, the Kapamilya actress shares: “Right before my birthday, I told myself that I wanted to declutter and let go of the things that I no longer need to make way for the abundant blessings from God.”
The actress posted before-and-after photos of her walk-in-closet, with the “before” photo showing shelves stuffed with bags, and a second clothes rack set out to accommodate her excess clothing. The “after” photo shows a more streamlined closet, with hats and neatly folded shirts on the shelves, and a trimmed-down wardrobe of dresses that are perfectly organized by type and color.
Apparently, Iza got help from organizer Mica Santayana to help her with the purging and organizing. Iza continues in her post: “The Universe was quick to respond by sending me the beautiful angel, Mica Santayana, of @tidilyeverafter who helped me start my purging by working on my closet with me.”
“This is just phase one and I already feel lighter and definitely more organized thanks to Mica [for] personally teaching me and my staff at home how to make smarter and tidier decisions for our home and perhaps even in life! Salamat, Mica!”
Like a Filipina Marie Kondo, Mica visits her clients’ homes and not only de-clutters the areas but also teaches them how to maintain it. She uses her de-cluttering techniques on her own home and has some fantastic organizing and purging tips on her Instagram account, such as the “Five Things” tip: “Today, I want you to have a look at your closet and pick out 5 things you know you can live without. It will only take a minute, but the effects will last forever!”
Iza Calzado lives in a beautiful and elegant condo unit in Makati that was designed by Nix Alañon.
