While many are only getting into gardening during the quarantine, Aubrey Miles has been growing plants in her home for more than a decade. Dubbed as a certified 'plantita', Aubrey currently owns over 100 plants. "Parang I have 100 kids," she shares in a video interview with Summit Media. "Iba yung feeling na nago-grow ko sila. I felt like, "Oh My God from little seed[s] and now they are trees. Parang nakaka-proud."
According to the mom of three, living in a home filled with plants is quite relaxing. "We are in the city... but [my family] feels like parang they are on a vacation."
If you're planning to start your own indoor garden, Aubrey recommends focusing on one to three plants. "Marami akong kakilala na [bumili ng] 10 plants and then nao-overwhelm sila [so] namamatay lahat [ng plants]."
While some of her plants, especially the rare ones, are expensive, Aubrey makes sure she propagates them. "Propagation is [when] you cut [your plants] and then you grow [them]. [Then], I sell them to get my money back."
