Bedroom
Liven those tired, old bedsheets by adding a pop of color, such as a throw pillow with an interesting pattern or a complementing flat sheet in a bold shade. You can also swap items from different sets for an interesting mix.
Bathroom
You spend a lot of private time in your bathroom, so it’s important to make it a place where you can feel relaxed. Change your shower curtain at least once a month, and add small details to give it a spa-like feel, such as bottles of essential oils or scented candles. Decorating with small potted plants can also help spruce things up.
Living Room
Re-arranging your furniture is one of the quickest ways to give your space a new vibe. Don’t be afraid to mix things up or take things out—if all else fails, you can go back to your old lay-out. Add your personal touch by reframing old photos or displaying souvenirs you got from your travels. You can also put in minor details such as new throw pillows or an interesting rug for added oomph.
Kitchen
Start by cleaning the kitchen. A lot of people always postpone giving the kitchen a good scrub because old oil and grime are pretty hard to remove (baking soda can help you with this). Once you have everything spic and span, add accents to your wall such as family photos and framed drawings of your kids or siblings. If you’re interested in going the extra mile, change the lighting, as well as your old drawer knobs and even your faucet head. A potted plant or a vase of dried flowers can be a great final touch to your otherwise plain kitchen window.
