These days, more and more singles and families prefer to live in condominium units due to their convenience. Many people find condominium high-rises more suitable than houses as these are usually in key locations close to business districts, schools, malls, and even public transport. But with the number of condominium developments going up and already on the market these days, buyers have a multitude of options to choose from. And if you're looking to buy, all these options may make it difficult to pick the perfect home for you.

When choosing a condominium unit for yourself or for your family, there are a number of factors you should consider. Location is a prime concern that should be established early on. Another is the cost. What is your budget for the unit, factoring in monthly dues, utilities, and the like?

Buying a condo unit can be a good way to get into your first home or to downsize from a larger home, but living in one is quite different from living in a single-family house. You own the space within your unit but not the outer structure of the condo or the ground on which it sits. There are rules to live by and adjacent neighbors to consider.

Check out the slide show below to learn about questions you should ask before settling on a unit so that you can maximize your condo-living experience.
