Aging is one of those things that we can never escape from in life. Since ancient times, people have been looking for the secret to immortality and have repeatedly failed. Gradually, humanity has accepted that immortality is an unreachable dream, but we still dare to hope for eternal youth and beauty.
Age is just a number, but there are some things that make us feel positively prehistoric, even though we fully know that we’re still at the prime of our youth. It could be the fact that your favorite childhood TV shows have stopped airing more than a decade ago. Maybe it’s that time you "discovered" your pager and your Barbie doll collection stashed away in a cardboard box. Or it could be the knowledge that all your childhood playmates now have their own families and are worrying about "grown-up" things like bills, groceries, and tuition payments.
Whatever our age is (and however ancient we feel we are), we should learn to embrace our maturity wholeheartedly. Embrace your wrinkles, laugh lines, crow's feet, and white hair--think of them as trophies of your experiences instead of things to be ashamed of. And most importantly, be thankful every day that you have been blessed with another chance to experience the wonders of the world around us, for not everyone lives to be as old as you are.
