Having too much of anything is bad for you. This is true even for things that are healthy, like vitamins. A lot of us have been taking multivitamins since childhood because we were told that they’re good for the body. And while it’s true that growing kids benefit from them, adults may already be getting enough nutrients from their diet. You may not know it, but by religiously taking these supplements, you may already be exceeding the recommended daily intake (RDI) for some of the nutrients.
Also, to debunk a popular belief, supplements are not meant to replace a well-balanced diet.
