Tweetie de Leon-Gonzales, 50, just looks better with age! The supermodel and lifestyle personality gave us the push we needed to get off our lazy butts and finally work out. Tweetie, a mom of four grown kids (yes, four!), posted a behind-the-scenes clip of her new TVC for Organique Acai Berry. You'll see her effortlessly hang onto monkey bars—with her legs—and do several crunches.
Yup, we've already burned calories just by watching it!
In an interview with Cosmo.ph, Tweetie shares how she manages to keep fit and healthy:
How frequently do you work out?
"Four to five times a week. [I do] weights for about one and a half to two hours each session. I alternate cardio and strength training. But during weights day, I run, too, for warm up and cool down. [But] I don't run too long because of a chronic ankle injury."
What is your workout routine?
"I change it up every so often to challenge myself physically and mentally. It is my only way to keep to a routine as I get lazy, too, sometimes. Setting goals has always been key in keeping myself motivated—whether in terms of endurance, strength, BMI, speed, muscle tone, or even flexibility. I tend to push myself too hard at times but I remind myself that getting injured is never an option."
What is your diet and eating philosophy?
"A big portion of my daily meal consists of vegetables. I don't feel satisfied if I don't have enough—a far cry from my younger years. I do have carbs and meat, though in limited portions. I need the sustenance for my daily activities.
"Discipline with eating habits and food choices poses a bigger challenge for me. Though I'm not a foodie, I have a long list of favorite indulgent treats to choose from. I do have them still—pizza, ice cream, chocolates—but always careful to never overdo. I'm here to enjoy my life. A shot of Organique Acai Drink helps tremendously in curbing my cravings."
