Have you ever experienced vaginal dryness? It's a condition which usually arises during menopause, perimenopause, and even while undergoing chemotherapy because of reduced estrogen levels.
Normally, the female hormone estrogen keeps the vagina lubricated and maintains tissue elasticity and acidity. A significantly lower estrogen count, however, leads to a thinner and less elastic vaginal lining. Apart from the discomfort, this could also lead to urinary incontinence and recurring urinary tract infections.
Contrary to what you may think, a woman who is experiencing dyspareunia or persistent vaginal dryness is not alone. According to a Louis Harris study, although vaginal dryness occurs mostly in women during and after menopausal transition, 17 percent of women ages 20 to 49 have the same problem. They are forced to endure other symptoms and complications of vaginal dryness such as itchiness, a burning sensation, pressure, pain or light bleeding during sex, and urinary frequency.

However, there is no need to suffer in silence—not when there’s Mithra Intim, the only three-in-one hydrating gel for intimate female discomfort. It is made up of polycarbophile, alpha bisabolol, and lactic acid. Polycarbophile is like a mini sponge that induces hydration to the mucosa. It reverts the epithelial walls back to normal thickness and gives them better elasticity. Alpha bisabolol, on the other hand, protects the vagina against bacteria and fungal infection. It relieves the burning sensation and eliminates the odors. Lactic acid restores your vaginal pH to 4 to 4.5 and protects the vagina from external infection by natural means.
Mithra Intim doesn’t contain hormones and can be used long-term without any complications. It is a colorless, odorless, and water-based non-sticky gel. Its lubricating function is only second to its moisturizing effect, which soothes the vagina, and any woman can use it. Application is quite simple:
Step 1: Connect the open end of the cylindrical applicator to the tube.
Step 2: Fill half of the applicator with gel for about 1 1/2 inches. Keep the applicator firmly on the tube to avoid spillage.
Step 3: Slowly separate the applicator from the tube.
Step 4: Lie on your back, and bend your knees backward.
Step 5: Insert the applicator deep into the vagina and proceed with the application.
After each use, wash the applicator with soap and water. Rinse very well before drying, and store it in a dry, clean place. Never share your applicator with anyone else.

To help you use Mithra Intim more effectively, here are a few reminders: for vulval and intravaginal itchiness and irritation due to tampons or breastfeeding, you may either use the applicator internally twice a week, or rub the gel daily on the vulva or perivulva. For women suffering from redness of the vulva, rub the gel daily on it for a month. For women who are undergoing antihormonal treatment or pelvic radiations, use Mithra Intim twice a week to restore the physiological properties of the vaginal mucosa.
To prevent getting vaginal dryness in the first place, eat a diet rich in tofu and soya milk. Stop douching (using a jet of liquid to cleanse your vagina), regulate your intake of antihistamines, and drink water more often.
Mithra Intim isn't directly an antifungal agent, but it is capable of improving the vaginal ecosystem and may prevent future relapses. If you find yourself having problems with vaginal dryness, consult your doctor about Mithra Intim.
