Worried that you might get red and itchy varicose veins? According to Dr. Lolit Suplido Westergaard, "varicose veins are superficial veins that have become dilated and tortuous. Although they can appear anywhere in the body, the term is most often used to refer to enlarged veins in the legs." Dr. Maria Lurenda Suplido Westergaard finished her medical studies at the University of the Philippines in 1995 then went on to study Occupational Medicine at the National University of Singapore.
