The best cure for any disease is still prevention. And while there's no way for you to completely ensure that you won't get breast cancer, you can still take steps that can help you decrease your risk of getting this disease.

In an article called "Reduce Your Risk" on WomensHealthMag.com, the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, which aims to stamp out cancer and improve women's health globally, lists down 10 things you can do to prevent breast cancer. Here are five of them as reported on the site:

1. HAVE YOUR CHILDREN BEFORE 35, IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE.

2. EXERCISE REGULARLY.

3. DRINK ALCOHOL IN MODERATION.

4. BREASTFEED YOUR CHILDREN.

5. AVOID UNNECESSARY X-RAYS.

The foundation also reminds women to have mammograms done as needed and to carefully watch for changes in your breasts.
