There’s nothing wrong with pampering yourself every now and then. With the weekend up ahead, indulge in the little pleasures and make the most out of each day with no smart phones, laptops, or anything related to work. Treat yourself to something nice–you deserve it!

Have coffee with a friend.
Call a high school friend and have lunch with her. Reminisce about the old times and start catching up on each other’s lives. Surprising as it seems, an Australian study shows that good friends may help you live longer. So start reconnecting with your close friends!

Have a movie marathon.
Whether you’re alone or with your friends, watch a movie–it’s the best way to keep your mind off things. Don’t forget the popcorn! We recommend that you watch movies that would make you laugh like Ms. Congeniality, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Bridesmaids. Say no to scary films or hugot movies for now.

Go to a spa.
Who doesn’t want a good massage? Release stress and tension by booking a day at the spa. You could also try turning your house into a spa by investing in quality candles and preparing a tray of bath goodies you could use for a relaxing hot bath later on.

Give yourself a makeover.
Dreaming of blonde locks? Now's the time to give it a try! Go to your favorite salon and ask for a unique-yet-totally-you kind of haircut or get your eyebrows done–the proper way.

Have a DIY beauty day.
Make homemade facial masks from ingredients that can easily be found in your kitchen. We recommend that you try mixing carrots, honey, olive oil, and turmeric for a glow-enhancing face mask.

Go shopping.
There's nothing wrong with spending your hard-earned money. Call it an incentive to work harder or improve your skills.

Take a walk in the park.
Listen to the birds singing, watch the children playing, and relax and enjoy the little things life has to offer. If you're in a relationship, you could ask him to join you and just enjoy each other's company–quietly.

Read a good book.
Get lost in a new book or re-read your favorite title. Classics such as To Kill A Mocking Bird, Catcher in the Rye, and Animal Farm are must-reads.

Try an art class.
It doesn’t matter if you can draw or not, it’s therapeutic. Also, you get to express yourself through art without having to say a word. There are lots of art classes within the metro you can try like Young Artists' Studio, UP College of Fine Arts and Design, and Vilca Art and Designs Studio.

Take a hot bath.
After a long day of shopping and meeting up with friends, de-stress your mind and body with a relaxing and warm bath. Try putting lavender or rose petals in the water for a more calming effect. It's better to do this at night so you can get a better night's sleep.
