You may have already noticed the big news from FemaleNetwork this week: The Relaunch.

With 200,000 monthly unique users and a loyal base of readers, some of whom have been with us since FN’s first launch in 1999, we wanted to start the new decade by offering you more: more articles, more quizzes, more polls, more features, more expert advice, more everything—topped off with a modern new look and design.

But when you’ve already gotten used to the last look, it’s understandable if you find our virtual makeover a little daunting. You may even be worried that this is no longer the FN you know and love. But don’t be!

As Summit Publishing’s Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng explains, “In 1999, FN launched to provide Filipina women with a community on the web. Our mission is still the same in 2010, but beefed up with more resources, commitment, and the focus to make it a better experience—a place where Filipinas can find relevant information to help improve their lives, find inspiration amongst each other, and continue to connect as they have always done but with better tools and interfaces.”

DESIGN

It’s fresher and more modern and more determinedly feminine, with our new signature colors being pink, purple, and black. We have a wider interface to match the larger screens being used these days, and we use bigger, more eye-catching photos so they’re easier on your eyes.

CONTENT

Over the past few months, we've expanded the site and given you more sections and content for topics like news and features, family and parenting, food and home, and travel and leisure. Now we’re adding even more sections for you to browse for information and inspiration:

Womanity: Profiles of and interviews with great Filipina women—their inspiring stories of determination, strength, and dedication to what they believe in.

How Tos: A collection of tips, tricks, and instructions on just about anything.

Blogs: Advice and true-to-life anecdotes from some of our dedicated bloggers.

Archives: Articles collected from FN over the years as well as stories from back issues of Good Housekeeping and Real Living magazines.

FEATURES

FN now links directly to our Facebook or Twitter pages from our home page.  You also get daily tips and horoscopes right off the main page as well as feeds from our partner sites: StyleBible.PH, Smart Parenting, Yummy, and Cosmo Philippines. And this is only the beginning for FN’s new features—watch out for more goodies in the next few months!

Of course, all this change doesn’t mean that we’ve done away with the old sections and features you love so much. ShopCrazy is still just a click away—and it’s now more visible on our menu bar. The same goes for our GirlTalk forums, which have not changed except for acquiring a new skin.

So search, browse, enjoy. This is isn’t a new FemaleNetwork—it’s FemaleNetwork++!
