Thirteen incredible restaurants were hailed Manila's finest in cuisine in last week's 2009 Nescafe Gold Spot Awards, held at Encore in the Fort. The March 17 event was attended by the movers and shakers of the Manila dining scene, including Spot.ph editor-in-chief Myrza Sison, Nescafe Philippines representative Logan O'Brien, and the contest's highly-esteemed panel of judges.
Now on its second year running, the Nescafe Gold Spot Awards celebrates the capital's romance with food by awarding the best restaurants in town according to the areas they excel in. For this year's 13 categories, food-loving Spot.ph readers nominated over 489 bistros, bars, and eateries which were then short-listed by the panel of judges--namely, Yummy editor-in-chief Becky Kho, top Pinoy chefs Him Uy de Baron and Aileen Anastacio, award-winning food blogger Franco of Table for Three Please, food writer and SPOT.ph blogger JJ Yulo, and gastronomically-inclined actress Cherie Gil.
