Much like our favorite toyo, patis, and ketchup, olive oil is beginning to become a staple in Filipino restaurants. Just ask Black Sheep’s Chef Jordy Navarra who used a variety of olive oils from French-based company Oliviers & Co. to show us just how far the green gold could go.

From his Chicken-N-Egg appetizer to his Calamansi Merengue, Foie Gras & Polvoron dessert, it was evident that the right quality of olive oil can be an asset in the kitchen. It doesn’t just give our favorite dishes a more refined finish, it’s also a healthier alternative what with its polyphenols, vitamin E, and oleic acid.

It doesn't hurt that it's so easy to incorporate into our daily meals either. “I have to admit that I am cooking everything with olive oil,” says Melanie Costaris, International Sales Director at Oliviers & Co. With kids of her own, it’s important for Melanie to make meals that are not only healthy and easy to do, but also delicious, too! Lucky for us, Oliviers & Co., known for its collection of gourmet olive oil, seasonings, and condiments, recently opened its first store at Central Square in Bonifacio High Street. Now you can effortlessly whip up your own baon with a gourmet flourish!
