Mental Illness
« on: July 07, 2017, 10:12:06 pm »
This problem is bothering me for decades na. Well, 10 years na next year. My sister was diagnose a Bipolar syndrome.

Loner kasi yung ate ko back in highschool. Matapang sya dahil andyan si mama minsan pag triggered sya nananakit sya as in physical.

maybe someone needs to start showing her tough love.
bring her to a  psychiatrist and let her know that if she is uncooperative, the next option is getting confined in the mental institute.  i assume right now somebody is with her 24 hrs a day but that is taking too much of another person's life.

bipolar should be manageable with the correct dose of medicine and sessions with the doctor.

and make sure that she is drinking the medicine. often times, it's because niluluwa nila or whatever technique it is that they do para di nila inumin yung gamot.

Yes, tough love! Sometimes, you gotta do it.

This! I suspect this could be the case because trust me meds can really help A LOT! We had a client once (law firm) whose mom was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. 15 years ago pa yung diagnosis pero until now walang improvement. FIrst few years ok daw na-manage ng mom yung illness, may full time office job pa nga siya eh that time. Then it went downhill from there. Tried other docs and meds wa effect. Turns out she pretends to take the meds Lang. When asked why, she said she does not feel likeshe is herself whenever she takes the meds. It's like seeing another person daw whenever she looks in a mirror Kaya she quit taking it.
Virtual hugs sis! And hope malagpasan niyo to.

TS, mahirap yan.

I have a friend na bipolar pero she's living a normal life naman. Saka she takes care of herself - umiinom ng gamot at supplements.

So I believe nasa may katawan yan. Pray for your sister. Na sana tanggapin nya at labanan nya sakit nya.

By the way, search mo yung video ni TJ Manotoc about his testimony sa pagiging bipolar nya dati at kung pano sya gumaling.

My father still has this. We are not sure if he REALLY is Bipolar, but he's crazy. Nagstart 10 years ago when he resigned (well Navy does not want him anymore, so they told him to resign instead). My brother was 3 years old then and grabe sya makapalo sa kanya nun, even though yung mga mistakes nya is normal for a 3-year-old boy. Yung sobrang kulit lang nya and malikot, yun lang yung . I took care of him so I am overly protective of him, to the point that I talk back to my father whenever he punishes him unfairly.

In my father's case, most of the times he is normal. What we observed from him is he will have these crazy times during December to January. But it stopped for the last two years....until December last year. My mom is a teacher. He made death threats to the principal, that made my mom almost lose her job. For my mom to be able to get back to work, my father was supposed to be medicated in a mental health facility. My mom sent him there for two weeks. But I hate him still.

Pero I agree with almost what the others said. Sila mismo ang may ayaw gumaling sila. If they had taken their meds properly, edi ok na sana sila. Hindi sana sila nag-iimagine ng kung ano-ano. Binibigyan mo ng gamot, magkukunwaring iniinom. Or if iniinom, iinom naman sila ng hindi dapat, ng mga magttrigger ng mga hallucinations nila. Nakakasawa na. I hate him still. I'll hate him forever. And I hate my mom for not leaving my father, for sticking with him, letting my little siblings suffer. Yet I love her for being there for them.

Anger/aggression talaga may be associated with depression minsan, not many people realize.

When you go once sa psychiatrist can they diagnose right away if bipolar ka, and can give you meds same day?

Sa sister ko yes. Same day nadiagnose siya pero sa first checkup niya depression ang unang diagnosis nung second Bipolar then yung last is schizophrenic pero medyo doubt kami sa schizo kaya nagpa check up sa iba ulit which is balik Bipolar yung diagnosed.

Schizo kasi ito na yung hindi naliligo then wala na talaga pakealam sa surrounding niya (example yung sa daan na bigla na lang nananakit  ng tao out of nowhere) while my sister alam na alam pa naman niya surrounding minsan ok minsan hindi lalo na pag hindi nakainom ng meds nya.
