sis purplum, i looked for a commercial space first. prior to the commercial space's availability, i researched for suppliers and posted ads for my staff requirements.

siguro around 2 months lang ang preparation ko, that includes the renovation of the space na, hiring ng staff and purchase of equipment.

tip ko lang sis, mag-visit ka ng iba't ibang nail spa. observe how they treat their customers. keep in mind what kind of services they offer, how much, what products they use, layout of the salon, their equipment. take down notes ka ng lahat ng mapapansin mo.

consolidate your observation with your ideas. then yun nga, research for suppliers and technicians.

it would be a big help if you can enrol sa mga seminars on how to put up a nail spa. if wala naman, research ka lang sa net, tingnan mo yung mga nail spa sa ibang countries. HTH :)

sis dcccxxi, i posted ads for my salon requirements. namigay ako ng flyers, nagdikit sa mga waiting shed, nag-post sa internet. majority of my staff nag-apply dahil they saw the ads. pero one of them, pinag-aral ko sa Ricky Reyes. nung sumabak siya sa business, talagang theories lang ang alam niya, hanggang sa nahasa na.

Thanks Iggy, galing mo talaga :)

Sa ngayon more on reading ako about "how to start a salon business" from the internet, may ginawa na akong compilation, para pagka may mahanap na akong magandang location medyo may alam na ako ano na ang susunod kong gawin.

Good luck sating lahat. :)

We are currently on a trial basis if we can make our salon work kahit na hindi super tutok katulad ng dati.

Sana magwork out. :)

A few tips:

1. Maghanap na po ng tao in advance. This can take a serious amount of time kaya kesa masayang ang oras pag ready na [textspeak!] salon tapos walang manpower, maghanap na ng maaga.
2. If you're in a partnership with friends, be sure that all the partners understand that business is business. This can cause serious conflict.
3. Try to canvass numerous suppliers. Mas okay wag mamonopolize ng isa lang. For major treatments like rebond, relax, siguraduhin na okay ang quality ng gamot (ask your stylists for opinions since sila yung gagamit ng gamot, magresearch - some sisses here in GT can provide expert opinion)
4. Maging handa sa first few months (can be discouraging, majority ng business di agad nagpipick up)
5. Try to gauge how satisfied your customers are via feedback forms.
6. You can also determine which leads are strongest para mabuild-up. Kami kasi now, referral. So we make sure LAHAT ng client ng salon, happy. Hindi maiwasan back-jobs. It really happens. Basta make your clients feel na anumang dissatisfaction, you are willing to make amends (as necessary). Beware - may mga abusadong clients din.
8. Flyers, flyers, flyers.
9. Create account sa networking sites. Then i-add nyo mga tao dun na nasa vicinity ng salon (you can find them via search tool). Extra exposure din yan. Plus easy reference ng clients for promos and pricelist. Not to mention puedeng mag-announce ng promo sa bulletin board. :)
12. Magsimula sa pangmasang presyo.
13. Make your salon interior impressive and sosyal (kahit di kayo gumastos ng malaki, promise.)

Yung may ibang masuggest, pakipost din para pede nating ma-apply in the future.

Aja! :D

This is what I want too and have been planning for sometime now. Kaso I want to start it first as home service para lesser capital & operating cost. Ang worry ko lang is handling ng staff and how many technicians to employ initially. More tips pa mga sis! :)

sis iggypop, dun sa 100k start up, hindi included yung renovation and deposit ng location? are there seminars available on how to run a salon biz?
Betting on both ends when the odds are close.

^ yup sis not included pa ang renovation and deposit kase it would depend on your prospect commercial space. re seminars on putting up a salon business, i haven't encountered one, but there are seminars on hair cutting, coloring and reflexology.

Thank sa thread starter. Ang rami ko rin natutunan... I am currently enrolled sa isang "selling" seminar. Turo sa class namin is: incentive - is only given to employees for their productivity that are beyond the expected work.

Example:
we are giving them 150 pesos per day
meron dapat quota to an average of 10 customer per day... in case we feel that 15pesos of the sale should be allocated to the the salary. Pag hindi sya umabot sa quota, meron syempre sunctions or something to that extent.

then above their quota, puwede na lagyan ng incentive. Like another 15 pesos per customer or something to that effect.

Pero syempre, dapat meron din sila drive to make them more effective and willing to work for us.

yun rate at numbers nga above is only for sample. hindi naman yan definite. you will have to adopt to your individual case din.

sana nakatulong....
