Baby kitten clinging to me, but not to her mom
« on: May 13, 2020, 02:04:19 am »
Given how extreme the weather can be where I live, I try to provide some sort of shelter outside my house for stray cats. We have had the same cats for like 5 generations (the grandmas/pas, and their descendants). I provide them with food, water, and medications (by a vet) when necessary.

Two of the cats that I have are sisters. They give birth around the same time, and they raise/feed each others' babies. I like to go outside and play with their kittens, which they are okay with. One of the baby kittens though goes crazy when it sees me. It follows me everywhere. The mom comes and picks it up, tries to feed it, but it leaves the mom and comes back to me. Keeps meowing at me, and sniffing me. The other kittens prefer the mom, not me.

Is this normal? should I be concerned that their mom will abandon them?
